Ivan Perisic is linked with a Man United move as Inter try to sign Lukaku

Inter Milan & Romelu Lukaku

One of the transfer stories gathering pace this week are claims Inter Milan could sign Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku is believed to be surplus to requirements at Man United.

At the same time, former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is rumoured to be close to joining Inter Milan.

As reported by HLN’s Kristof Terreur, Conte is hoping to sign Lukaku at Inter this summer.

Ivan Perisic & Man United

Italian pink paper Gazzetta dello Sport have also reported on Inter’s interest in Lukaku on Thursday.

When it comes to doing a deal with Man United, the problem for Inter is financial.

Lukaku joined Man United for 75 million pounds from Everton.

At the same time, the Belgian international is on big wages at the Theatre of Dreams.

According to Gazzetta, Inter may try to throw-in Croatian winger Ivan Perisic as part of the Lukaku deal.

The Nerazzurri are considering a 30 million euro bid plus Perisic for Lukaku.

Ivan Perisic stats

Now 30, Ivan Perisic is under contract at Inter until 2022.

Perisic has played 33 games in Serie A this season scoring eight goals and contributing four assists.

The Croat also played six times in the Champions League without scoring, plus four times in the Europa League with a goal and an assist.

What about Daniel James?

According to widespread reports, Man United’s first signing of the summer could be Swansea’s Daniel James.

James, 21, is a Welsh international who predominately plays down the left wing.

If United sign James, do they also need to sign another left-winger like Perisic?

At the same time, Anthony Martial remains another option to fill that role at Old Trafford.

Other Inter & Lukaku points of note

It’s worth noting that Lukaku has recently spoken about playing in Italy.

Speaking on Sky Italia’s Lords of Football, Lukaku said:

Playing in Serie A is a dream, it would be really a dream.

I hope to be able to play sooner or later, even if at the moment I am focused on the United.

Gazzetta also report that if Inter miss out on Lukaku, they could make a move for Bosnian forward Edin Dzeko instead.

Lastly, along with Man United’s Lukaku, Sky Sports claim that Inter Milan are also interested in signing Chelsea’s Victor Moses.
