Madrid Kalah dari Tim Divisi Tiga, Zidane: Kami Sudah Berusaha Sekuat Tenaga

ALCOY – Pelatih Real Madrid, Zinedine Zidane, mengaku kecewa dengan kekalahan yang dialami timnya pada babak 32 besar Copa del Rey 2020-2021. Kekalahan tersebut pun terasa memalukan karena Madrid ditaklukkan tim divisi tiga Liga Spanyol yakni Alcoyano.

Pada laga yang berlangsung di Campo Municipal El Collao, Kamis (21/1/2021) dini hari WIB tersebut, Madrid menyerah 1-2 dari Alcoyano. Laga pun berlangsung sangat sengit karena pertarungan harus berakhir hingga babak tambahan waktu.

Meski kekalahan ini adalah hasil yang sangat buruk untuk Madrid, tetapi Zidane berusaha tegar. Pelatih asal Prancis itu mengatakan bahwa anak asuhnya telah berusaha sekuat tenaga untuk memenangi laga tersebut.

Akan tetapi, takdir berkata lain. Zidane pun hanya bisa pasrah karena Madrid harus kehilangan kesempatan untuk meraih gelar juara pada musim ini dengan tersingkir dari ajang Copa del Rey 2020-2021.

“Kami telah mencoba, saya pikir para pemain telah meninggalkan segalanya di lapangan. Kami memiliki peluang dan ketika Anda tidak memasukkannya, apa yang terjadi pada kami bisa terjadi,” ungkap Zidane, mengutip dari Goal, Kamis (21/1/2021).

“Ini adalah momen yang sulit, kami keluar dari Copa, kami harus melakukan sesuatu yang lain tetapi kami tidak bisa. Para pemain telah mencoba,” tambahnya.

“Ini sepakbola, sangat sulit kami bermain melawan tim divisi tiga dan kami harus memenangkan pertandingan. Akan tetapi, kenyataannya tidak berjalan seperti itu,” tambahnya.

Meski begitu, Zinedine menilai kekalahan tersebut adalah hal wajar. Sekalipun takluk dari tim divisi ketiga, pelatih berkepala plontos itu tidak ingin mempermasalahkannya. Zidane merasa apa pun bisa terjadi dalam sepakbola.

“Ini tidak memalukan, itu bisa saja terjadi, ini adalah hal yang terjadi dalam karier sepakbola. Saya memikul tanggung jawab dan kami akan terus bekerja. Kami tidak akan gila,” sambungnya.

Pada laga tersebut, Madrid sejatinya unggul lebih dulu lewat gol Eder Militao pada menit 45. Akan tetapi, keunggulan tersebut mampu dibuyarkan Alcoyano pada menit 80 lewat gol Jose Solbes sebelum akhirnya ditutup dengan kemenangan melalui gol Juanan di menit 115.

There is more to Manchester United than just Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United’s title challenge gathered momentum as they ran out 2-1 winners over Fulham on Wednesday evening.

The result ensured the Red Devils returned to the Premier League summit, two points clear of rivals Manchester City in second (who have a game in hand) and Leicester in third and six points clear of Liverpool (who also have a game in hand).

It’s a position that seemed unthinkable when they were being hit for six by Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham in October or when Demba Ba was making a mockery of them for Istanbul Basaksehir in November – and a large debt of thanks to the position they currently find themselves in is owed to Bruno Fernandes.

The midfielder has been the catalyst for change at Old Trafford since his arrival from Sporting CP last January, and he has dragged United up the table this term with 11 goals and seven assists in the Premier League.

Fernandes was typically good again against Fulham on Wednesday evening, playing a pivotal part in United’s equaliser as his teasing delivery was palmed into the path of Edinson Cavani by Alphonse Areola and popping up with his signature flicks and deft touches.

But it was Cavani and Paul Pogba who shone brightest for United, demonstrating that the Red Devils do have another dimension to them.

Fulham had taken the lead inside six minutes through Ademola Lookman. Fulham, the side who tend to win when they go ahead under Scott Parker versus Manchester United, the side who have made a habit of sparking a comeback and winning from losing positions. Something had to give. Fulham gave.

Cavani equalised with an instinctive, smart poacher’s finish and really looked the part up top for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, his goal capping off a thoroughly impressive all round performance from the Uruguayan. His work rate was exceptional; he chased back, he harried, he flew into tackles and he didn’t give the Fulham backline a moment’s respite.

Going forward, Cavani’s movement was smart and unpredictable. He almost gave United the lead in the second half with a darting near post run and header, only a strong Areola save keeping him out.

Areola could do nothing to keep out Pogba’s scorching strike minutes later. It was a thing of pure beauty from the United midfielder, cutting inside on the edge of the box and then sending an ridiculously audacious strike into the Fulham net.

It was a moment of world class, match winning quality from Pogba where – just like against West Ham in December – he demonstrated his ability to change a game with a single flash of brilliance.

Fernandes is world class, but against Fulham the Red Devils demonstrated that they have more strings to their bow.

Murray positif Covid-19

London: Andy Murray belum pasti dapat menyertai Terbuka Australia selepas ujian mendapati dia positif Covid-19.

Bekas pemain nombor satu dunia itu sepatutnya terbang ke Australia menaiki pesawat khas disewa penganjur kejohanan tetapi sebaliknya masih menjalani kuarantin di rumahnya di London.

Menurut akhbar Britain, kesihatan Murray dalam keadaan baik dan dia berharap dapat tiba di Australia selepas tamat tempoh kuarantin ditetapkan.

Pemain berusia 33 tahun itu adalah naib juara lima kali di Melbourne.

Lebih daripada 1,200 pemain dan staf sokongan mula tiba di Australia hari ini sebelum menjalani kuarantin 14 hari menjelang kejohanan itu yang bermula 8 Februari.

Pengarah Kejohanan, Craig Tiley sebelum ini gigih menangani masalah logistik menjelang penganjuran Grand Slam ketika pandemik.

Tenis Australia berkata pemain hanya dibenarkan datang ke Australia bersama bukti mereka negatif Covid-19 atau mendapat kelulusan daripada kerajaan negara itu.

Kejohanan kelayakan ke Grand Slam pula berlangsung di Qatar.

Chelsea Kalah dari Leicester City, Pemecatan Semakin Nyata untuk Frank Lampard

LEICESTER – Karier Frank Lampard sebagai Manajer Chelsea dalam ancaman pemecatan setelah rentetan hasil buruk pada musim 2020-2021. Teranyar, Chelsea kalah 0-2 dari Leicester City dalam lanjutan Liga Inggris 2020-2021.

Sebagaimana diketahui, kabar pemecatan Lampard sudah beredar sejak pekan lalu saat Chelsea akan memainkan Derby London kontra Fulham pada Minggu 17 Januari 2021. Isu itu menyebutkan mantan juru taktik Chelsea, Avram Grant, akan menggantikan Lampard sebagai caretaker sebelum klub memilih pelatih secara permanen.

Namun, isu itu mereda ketika The Blues –julukan Chelsea– menang tipis 1-0 atas Fulham. Sebelum isu itu mereda, Lampard pun tidak terlalu memikiran kabar pemecatannya.

Lampard memilih untuk tidak menanggapi isu tersebut. Sikap pria asal Inggris itu ditunjukkan dalam konferensi pers sebelum pertandingan kontra Fulham berlangsung.

“Saya tidak tahu apa-apa tentang itu. Jadi saya memilih untuk tidak membahasnya lebih jauh,” kata Lampard, seperti dikutip Standard, Rabu (20/1/2021).

“Saya ingat berada di sini bersama Jose Mourinho ketika dia memenangi gelar berturut-turut pada 2005 dan 2006. Avram Grant bergabung dengan klub pada musim panas berikutnya sehingga itu terjadi (pergantian kursi pelatih),” tuturnya.

“Saya tidak ingin terlalu memikirkan apa artinya karena di klub sepakbola modern ada peran tersendiri untuk orang yang berbeda di klub tersebut. Terkadang, jalur komunikasi yang bagus ke dewan Anda atau orang yang berpengalaman bisa menjadi hal yang hebat,” ucap Lampard.

“Akan tetapi, yang terpenting bagi saya saat ini adalah bahwa tim tengah bekerja sama sebaik mungkin. Tim, klub, staf, itu yang terbesar,” ujarnya.

Sementara itu, setelah kalah dari Leicester, posisi Lampard semakin dalam bahaya. Juru taktik asal Inggris itu mungkin dipecat dalam waktu dekat jika tidak mampu mengembalikan performa The Blues.

Chelsea kini menduduki posisi kedelapan klasemen sementara dengan koleksi 29 poin dari 19 pertandingan. Lampard dan pasukannya tertinggal sembilan poin dari Leicester yang menduduki posisi pertama.

Leicester City are top of the league and Chelsea manager Frank Lampard could be out of a job soon.

Those were the headlines from the Foxes’ 2-0 win at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night, in what could prove to be one of the momentous results in the Premier League’s recent history.

Things got off to an incredible start when Wilfred Ndidi scored inside six minutes. His goal was… pretty weird, to be honest.

The result of a botched, but clever, corner routine, Ndidi swung a left peg at the ball, after Harvey Barnes’ scuffed effort, and it flew past Edouard Mendy, clipping the post as it went in.

For those Foxes fans who have watched the Nigerian fire off long shots to little success over the years, the goal was a very welcome surprise.

James Maddison then rattled the crossbar, while Marc Albrighton stung Mendy’s palms with a fierce long shot soon after.

However, the next real talking point came when Chelsea were awarded a penalty.

Except, no, they weren’t. VAR made sure of that, much to the annoyance of Blues’ fans everywhere. Jonny Evans was initially judged to have brought Christian Pulisic down in the box, but upon review the challenge actually took place just outside.

A few minutes later, that particular decision would sting even more, with Leicester doubling their lead through Maddison.

It did not take long for the cries of ‘LAMPARD OUT’ to start after that…

After the break, Leicester’s dominance continued. By the hour mark, James Justin had nodded a free header wide at the back post, Marc Albrighton had had one ruled out for offside and Youri Tielemans was denied by Mendy’s legs.

Despite being in the ascendency, Foxes fans were not comfortable with their two-goal cushion and were pushing their side to see the game off.

In truth, they never looked like surrendering their lead.

Around the 65-minute mark both Callum Hudson-Odoi and Kai Havertz were withdrawn having contributed very little.

没看规则？罗马在加时赛进行第6次换人，将被判0-3失利

今天凌晨的意大利杯1/8决赛中，罗马坐镇主场经过加时2-4不敌斯佩齐亚被淘汰出局。赛后有意大利媒体指出，本场比赛罗马进行了违规换人，最后的结果将会改为0-3。

意媒Rai?Sport表示，意大利杯并没有加时赛能够多换一人的规则。罗马在第69分钟、85分钟以及95分钟各进行了两次换人，总计换上6人，违反了规则。因此，这场比赛他们将被判0-3告负。

在接受赛后采访时，丰塞卡并未对换上6人作出正面回应。而前意甲裁判卢卡-马雷利表示，比赛中若一方想要换人，裁判是无权进行阻止的。
