When and Where to Watch Inter’s Players During the November International Break

Off the back of a strong start to the season, 12 Inter players have been rewarded with international call ups by their respective nations.

Romelu Lukaku has been among the goals so far this season and will be hoping to carry his strong form over to international duty. They face an away game against Russia and Cyprus at home to finish off their European Championship qualifying campaign.

Of those Inter players representing their nations this month, here’s a look at when and where you can catch them in action.

Lautaro Martinez (Argentina)

Lautaro Martinez

The Argentinian has been in fine form for his club, finding the back of the net eight times in all competition so far. Despite the big money signing of Romelu Lukaku as competition for Martinez up front, the Argentine has seen his fair share of game time, starting alongside the Belgian and contributing well.

With an impressive record for Argentina of nine goals in just 15 caps, Martinez will be hoping to use these friendlies against Brazil and Uruguay to further cement his place in the national team’s squad.

Marcelo Brozovic (Croatia)

Marcelo Brozovic

Marcelo Brozovic has been hugely influential in the Inter midfield and it is no surprise to see him receiving a call up to the Croatia squad.

Brozovic recently reached 50 caps for the national team and will be hoping to continue adding to his tally with fine performances against Slovakia and Georgia in their upcoming qualifiers.

Stefan de Vrij (Netherlands)

Stefan De Vrij

Stefan de Vrij has been an important figure in an Inter defence that has only conceded 12 times in the league so far. Despite missing the first couple of fixtures through injury this season, De Vrij has quickly earned his place back and shown why he is such a crucial part of Inter’s success.

De Vrij has so far amassed 37 caps for the Netherlands but is currently in a battle with Juventus wonderkid Matthijs de Ligt to win his place back in the starting line-up. De Vrij will face an away game against Northern Ireland before facing Estonia at home to end their qualifying campaign.

Romelu Lukaku (Belgium)

Giampaolo Pazzini,Romelu Lukaku

Since his big money move from Manchester United, Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku has been a key player in Inter’s current run in the league. The Italian giants sit 2nd and they have a lot to thank Lukaku for, with the powerhouse striker scoring nine times in the league. However, despite his success in the league, he is yet to score for Inter in the Champions League.

He faces an away game against Russia and a home fixture against Cyprus as their final games in the qualifying campaign. Belgium have already qualified for the finals in 2020.

Milan Skriniar (Slovakia)

Milan Skriniar

Slovakian Milan Skriniar has been able to form a successful partnership at the back with Stefan de Vrij so far this season. The pair have conceded just 12 goals in Serie A so far, keeping four clean sheets in the process. His good form has earned him a call up to the Slovakian team where he will be hoping to add to his 29 caps.

Slovakia will face Croatia away before returning home to finish their campaign against Azerbaijan.

Nicolo Barella and Cristiano Biraghi (Italy)

Cristiano Biraghi

Nicolo Barella started off as a bit-part player after signing on loan for Inter, but has forced his way into the starting line-up for the giants in recent weeks. Barella has had a solid start to his league campaign so far, creating chances for the likes of Lukaku and claimed three assists and a goal so far. His good recent form has earned him a call up to the Italian national team. Despite being just 22 years old, he has already earned himself 10 caps for the national team.

Cristiano Biraghi has been forced to play slightly out of position as more of a left winger this season, with Danilo D’Ambrosio preferred at left back for most of the season and loanee Alexis Sanchez currently injured. Despite being out of position, he has played well enough to earn a call up to the Italy squad where he will look to add to his six caps against Bosnia and Armenia.

Matias Vecino and Diego Godin (Uruguay)

Diego Godin

Matias Vecino has so far struggled to hold down a place in the starting XI for Inter, featuring eight times this season but only four as a starter. Despite a difficult start to the season, including battling a muscle injury, he has done enough to earn a call up to the Uruguay squad.

Diego Godin is currently battling Stefan de Vrij and Milan Skriniar for a starting place in the back four. Despite being 33 years old, he has featured fairly frequently this season and done enough to stand out and earn a call up to earn his 134th cap for the senior Uruguay squad against Hungary or Argentina.

Valentino Lazaro (Austria)

Valentino Lazaro

Young right midfielder Valentino Lazaro has struggled for game time so far this season. Despite starting and playing the majority of Inter’s last two league fixtures, he has featured just three times in the league this season and five times in all competitions. At just 23, however, he is a much more regular contributor at international level, and he has already received 26 caps, scoring three times for his national team.

He will face North Macedonia and Latvia.
