Arsenal ‘optimistic’ of signing Celtic’s Kieran Tierney
The BBC’s David Ornstein has confirmed on Saturday evening that Arsenal are in the hunt to sign Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney.
According to Ornstein, Arsenal are optimistic of completing a deal for 22-year-old Tierney. He wrote:
Arsenal have had an opening bid of £15m for Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney rejected.
But there is optimism an agreement will be reached between the clubs, while personal terms for the 22-year-old Scotland international shouldn’t be a problem.

Tierney is under contract at Celtic until 2023.
Last season he played 40 matches in all competitions for Celtic. He scored once and contributed six assists.
Kieran Tierney’s price tag
How much do Arsenal have to offer Celtic to complete a deal for Tierney?
That issue is tackled by the Mirror, who suggest that Arsenal’s strategy is to lowball Celtic’s valuation:
Arsenal made a £15m approach for Tierney plus a player, although that was rejected by Celtic as they hold out for closer to £25m.
But the Gunners are expected to return with an improved £19m offer for the 22-year-old.
Should Arsenal really haggle over 6 million pounds if the club are convinced Tierney is a key target?
