Newcastle’s Miguel Almiron sent off
One of the big talking points was the impact of Newcastle United’s record signing Miguel Almiron.
Almiron was introduced off the bench in the second half.
However the Paraguayan forward lasted only seven minutes before he was sent off.
Could the Newcastle star have any complaints about his dismissal?
Not really, as Almiron took out Mexico’s Jose Juan Vazquez with a nasty tackle from behind.
The Newcastle star wiped out Vazquez after colliding with the back of his knee.

Arsenal vs Newcastle
Almiron’s dismissal may be good news for Newcastle before their trip to Arsenal on Sunday in the Premier League.
At least their playmaker didn’t play too much football before the trip to north London.
Arsenal will be looking for maximum points against the Magpies to boost their top four hopes.
The Gunners, who recently beat Man United in the league, occupy fourth spot in the table.
As for Newcastle, they are close to securing their top flight status for another year.
Newcastle are 13th in the table with 35 points from 31 games.
